Just a note to let you know I am doing much better. It was scary for a couple of months after taking two weeks of Levaquin. I had sudden joint pain, extreme muscle weakness, extreme fatigue, rash, headache, mental confusion.
I was tested for Lupus, Lymes, Arthritis, MS, ALS, etc, etc. I kept telling the Doc's it was due to the Levaquin because my symptoms started while I was taking the Levaquin for an "infection." There never was any "infection."
Taking calcium, potassium, a little zinc, magnesium and high dosage of vitamin C helped tremendously. My logic is that drug insert tells you NOT to take these while on fluoroguiolones because it interferes with the absortion of the drug. After a few weeks of continued fying my brain and body after I stopped the Levaquin I decided to try to TURN IT OFF. My research said the metabolites of these drugs are harmful and hang around for a long time. I could feel that damage was continuing long after I stopped the Levaquin Made sense to me to block further absortion. It worked!! I am still drinking lot's of distilled water to flush out the remaining poison. I still fatigue easily but I have my brain working again and most other symptoms are all gone.
A homeopathic doctor was helpful too. He diagnosed my problem without me telling him much. My faith in Western Medicine has been shaken. They don't have ALL the answers!! I did find a good rheumatologist who finally agreed with me that the Levaquin was most likely the cause of my sudden "illness." A nurse of hers reported the same thing to her a couple of years ago. She was very interested in the material from this website. Thank you all for posting. I am sure it has helped others tremendously. It helped me when most everyone thought I was a neurotic nutty broad.
