My name is Pam and I am one in one hundred and forty. I took a little, white pill and six weeks later, my entire life had changed – forever.

Before the summer of 2001, I was a young and talented athlete. I won championships in 24-hour mountain bike racing and motocross, crossing the finish line ahead of women with twice my experience.
Then, on a mission trip to Zambia, I took Lariam and soon experienced all of the documented side-effects; stomach pain, weakness, vomiting, fainting, loss of balance and coordination, paranoia, seizures, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, tremor, unexplained anxiety, depression, hallucinations, vision changes.
When I realized the medication was the cause of my horrible symptoms, I stopped taking it and assumed that the symptoms would quickly subside. But three years went by and I wasn’t much better. Research, doctors, even scientists couldn’t offer applicable guidance. So I began to search for answers myself, and what I learned has not only restored me to my old self, but has made me even stronger. I learned that my body possesses the ability to heal; that activating my natural mechanisms through a healthy lifestyle and exercises would free my mind and body from pain. I developed exercises that not only restored my biomechanics but allowed me to return to my sports. I’ve even picked up a few new ones! I live everyday by the standards I learned, and I live everyday pain-free and strong.
